Couples Yoga Retreat

With Nora Benian and Liz Frost

July 20 - 22, 2018

  • Semi-Private Cabin – CAD $525.00

Rather than practicing next to each other, explore Yoga together, and enhance your experience by assisting one another.  Stretch your levels of trust and strengthen communication, with benefits far beyond the physical. Couples stay in the moment with each other and work together toward common goals.  This is mutually beneficial for both participants individually physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually and for you both as a couple.

Beginners welcome!  No experience with yoga is required.

Benefits:

  • Release tension and reduces stress
  • Increases energy flow between the couple
  • Create unity
  • Build trust
  • Laughing together increases joy
Breathing together, co-operative movements and deep relaxation with your partner causes a phenomenon called entrainment. Entrainment refers to people united in a similar rhythm. When you merge and sync your practice with your partner, your breath, movement, and body positions find a rhythm together. It creates harmony and a stronger bond and may be the most intimate and fulfilling times you’ll spend together.

When you and your partner practice together doing Asanas (yoga poses), you must trust each other in every pose. You rely on your partner to hold you, support you, or stay balanced. This total reliance on the other creates a sense of trust and reassurance as you realize your partner is there for you. These small successes in a couple’s practice are different than in daily life but they create a
special bond. A partner pose requires give and take, and that includes knowing that sometimes you can and should relinquish control. All of the lessons learned in a yoga practice can transfer to life off the mat making you a stronger couple in life.

While yoga is a serious practice that requires effort and focus, just figuring out how to get into a pose can lead to a fair amount of laughter. In addition to being fun, couple’s yoga is quite intimate. You have to work together and with the right attitude, this practice strengthens the bond between you.
